G-1-P reacts with uridine triphosphate (UTP) to give uridine diphosphate glucose (UDPG) and pyrophosphate (PPi). The reaction is catalyzed by
uridine diphosphate-glucose pyrophosphorylase, or glucose1-P uridyltransferase.
