How to carry a microscope
carry it in both arms. One hand is placed in the arm and the other is placed under the base for support
How to focus a microscope?
Move the stage down into its lowest position, place the glass slide into the stage, be careful not to crack them, select the lowest power objective lens, and use low magnification first to achieve the best focus. Turn the coarse focus knob until you can see the cells, then turn the fine focus knob slowly until you can see the cells clearly
used for examining details of individual cells, its magnifying power is 1000x
Oil immersion objective
lens that stay focus even when the magnification has changed
Parfocal lenses
Do you look in the microscope with one eye closed?
No, open both of your eyes to avoid eye strain
made up of single lens

type of microscope that uses compound lenses
Compound light microscope
type of microscope uses a beam of accelerated electrons as a source of illumination
Electron microscope
used to view thin specimens (tissue sections, molecules, etc) through which electrons can pass generating a projection image.
Transmission electron microscope
use an electron beam to image samples with a resolution down to the nanometer scale.
