Example: Glucose Regulation
• Normal glucose clearance
is zero (i.e., no net loss)
• Filtration is complete
• Reabsorption complete (to

• Clearance increases for
excess plasma glucose
• Diabetics have low
reabsorption and can
accumulate glucose in
urine
